Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) enables customers to build large scale highly available services. ELB automatically distributes incoming application traffic across multiple targets, such as Amazon EC2 instances, containers, IP addresses, and Lambda functions. ELB provides the entry point for building hyper scale, fault tolerant applications. While ELB has seen tremendous growth since launch we are still in the early stages of realizing its full potential.
As a Software Development Engineer (SDE) for ELB High Performance Data Plane , you will be responsible for working with group of top talent in the design and development of a new high performance data plane to enable micro seconds latency for hundreds of billions packets per second and handle significant percentage of Internet traffic. In this role, you design and implement new technologies to enable ELB scaling at massive scale.

Basic Qualifications
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Bachelor's degree in computer science related fields OR 1+ years equivalent experience in software development
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical discipline
- Must be currently enrolled in school or graduated within the last 12 months
- Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)
- Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
- Previous technical internship(s) preferred
- Graduate degree is an asset
